Hi there! My name is Nisha Bothra. I love to swim, read, watch movies and go for long walks in the cool, quiet, bye-lanes of the city. I find great inspiration and joy in music. Putting my thoughts about life’s up’s, down’s, and surprises on paper relaxes me, as does spending time with family and friends. I am a believer. I believe that there is inherent goodness in each of us. I introspect, I change, I grow. I am a psychologist by passion as well as profession. I love to meet new people and learn from their life experiences. My own life’s experiences have taught me a lot about finding happiness and meaning, learning to be positive, patient, accepting and resilient, and altering my thoughts and belief system in order to adapt to whatever life gives me. These are the changes I help my clients make so that they can live a healthier and more joyous life. The following lines probably come closest to how I want to lead my life:
To laugh often and much;
To win the respect of intelligent people
and the affection of children;
To earn the appreciation of honest critics
and endure the betrayal of false friends;
To appreciate beauty,
to find the best in others;
To leave the world a bit better,
whether by a healthy child,
a garden patch,
or a redeemed social condition;
To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived.
This is to have succeeded.

Though I have experience working across all age groups, I especially like to work with children, adolescents and young adults. Youth are our future and a healthy transition from childhood to adulthood is essential for a happy and balanced society. Unfortunately, this age group is often considered to be “stress-free” and their problems are taken to be trivial by most adults. Ironically, depression, anxiety, maladjustment and a number of other mental health concerns are seen more in this age group than any other age bracket. Suicide rate is highest among youths not only in India, but worldwide. I strive to create awareness among teachers and parents, and help build life skills in children and adolescents that helps them to better brace the struggles in life. If you have any questions regarding individual counseling sessions, contact me and I will assist you in taking the next step forward. May the love for health and light always grow!
